Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting

held at The Bluebell Centre, Hothfield,

on Wednesday 4 June 2014 at 7.00 pm

Mr L Krause (Chair), Mrs D Hogben, Mrs P Sutcliffe, Mr J Collins, Mr M Cook, and Mr D Parker.

There were no Members of the Public present.

1.    APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

An apology for absence was received from Mr P Howard (prior engagement) and Borough Councillor Robey.

 

2.       DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Declarations of Pecuniary Interest

There were no Declarations of Pecuniary Interest.

 

Declarations of Significant Interest

There were no Declarations of Significant Interest from councillors present.

 

i)    Updating of Declarations of Interest for the Code of Conduct

Councillors are reminded that they should update their Declarations of Interest with the Monitoring Officer if necessary.

 

3.       PLAN-IT-ASHFORD    

Two more site submissions have been received by ABC and forwarded to the council.

Full details can be seen on ABC’s website.

 

The results of the survey being undertaken by KCC regarding the installation of broadband in the village should be available during the week beginning 23 June. 

 

Mr Krause and Borough Councillor Robey are working to try and get it installed in Hothfield earlier than July 2015, the date set by KCC.

 

4.    PUBLIC INTERVAL

There were no members of the public present.

           

5.      ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

Minutes 128 were accepted and it was unanimously agreed that Mr Krause should sign them as a true record of the meeting.

6.      MATTERS FOR REPORT ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES

Mr Cook carries out the weekly inspection of the MUGA and Youth Shelter, not Mr Collins.

           Chairman’s Update

           Mr Krause reported that funding has been secured for the renovation of the public toilets and work should be completed by the spring of 2015.

                                                                                                                                                      

           MUGA and Youth Shelter

           The outstanding work to the MUGA should be completed in the next couple of weeks.

11.      FORUM FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION BETWEEN COUNCILLORS

Mrs Sutcliffe reported that Mr Fletcher had asked her to pass on his thanks to the members of the Parish Council for the donation to the Pilgrims Hospice in lieu of the litter pickers wages.

 

The Clerk was asked to report the potholes in Waterfall Road and the fact that the hedge needs cutting back along Cades Road to Kent Highway Services.

 

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.00 pm.
