Mr Krause started the meeting by announcing the sad news that Mr Bob Rivers died in the Pilgrims Hospice on Monday 23rd April. Bob worked tirelessly for Hothfield and over the years became extremely adept at applying for and obtaining grant funding for village projects. The parish of Hothfield has a great many amenities and facilities thanks to the efforts of Bob.
The members of the Parish Council all expressed their gratitude for Bob’s help and support over many years, with numerous Parish Councils of Hothfield and for his work and dedication in researching the history of our parish, which he recorded for future reference. The members of the Parish Council would like to send their sincere condolences to Barbara and all members of Bob’s family.
1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE An Apology for Absence was received from Borough Councillor, Mr D Robey and Community Warden, Mr D Beckley.
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST There were no Declarations of Interest. i) Updating of Declarations of Interest for the Code of Conduct Councillors are reminded that they should update their Declarations of Interest with the Monitoring Officer if necessary. 3. PUBLIC INTERVAL There were no Members of the Public in attendance. 4. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Christine Peel, our PCSO, sent her apologies which were omitted from the Minutes in error. Minutes 106 were accepted and it was unanimously agreed that Mr Krause should sign them as a true record of the meeting.
Proposed Mr Collins Seconded Mrs Sutcliffe 5. MATTERS FOR REPORT ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES There were no Matters Arising that were not covered on the agenda.
6. UPDATE ON HOTHFIELD REGENERATION PROJECT It was agreed at the last meeting to proceed with alterations to the car park and seek permission from KCC to install the cattle grids.
Councillor Robey will present a detailed report at the Annual Parish Meeting on 30 April.

Email Correspondence Mr Walker re a Housing Need Survey. The Clerk will inform him that the results of the recent survey are held by the agency who administered it.
Noise Reduction on the M20. Councillors agreed that the noise did not really affect Hothfield residents
Hothfield Youth Project Mr Martin Elliott has now taken over from Mrs King and has met with Mrs Sutcliffe, Mrs Whittington and Mr Beckley.
He has been getting to know the young people and has identified the fact that numbers are low. He is putting detached youth workers into the village on Tuesdays to see how they interact with the young people and he has a rota of qualified youth workers who are keen to work in Hothfield and he will eventually appoint permanent staff from among these workers.
Mr Elliott is interested in the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and sports such as hockey and fencing. He is keen to take a group to Wales, on a residential course run by the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
Speeding Signs Nothing to report. To be removed from future agendas.
Location of Grit Bins This item will be discussed again if and when Parish Council funds are available to purchase and maintain more bins. To be removed from future agendas.
Diamond Jubilee Celebrations The event will run from 1.00 pm – 5.00 pm on 5 June.
Various stall are being run by village organisations and it is hoped to hire in other traditional attractions.
It has been decided that rather than charge an entrance fee, entrance will be free, but a charge or £2 for everyone will be made for the Hog Roast.
The committee has approximately £900 to spend.
Mr Parker agreed to check the Parish Council’s insurance policy and the Village Hall’s insurance policy to ensure that one or other policy covers the committee in the event of an accident on the day. If he is not happy that the event is adequately covered, separate insurance cover will be taken out. Mr Parker, Mr Eckersley and Mr Howard will liaise regarding insurance.
The bar is being run by a publican from Great Chart who will have his own licence. Mr Grenfell Banks is looking into the need for a PRS licence.
If weather is bad on the day the event will be moved from the Recreation Field to the Village Hall.
If the event makes a profit, the money will be earmarked for next years fete.
Resolution: Following discussion Parish Councillors unanimously agreed to contribute £200 from the contingency fund to the help fund Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
8. FINANCE Accounts to be paid
Resolution: Councillors unanimously agreed to pay the above accounts.

10. FORUM FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION BETWEEN COUNCILLORS The Clerk was asked to report Bears Lane to KHS again.
Mr Howard will ask the Environment Agency whether they are responsible for the Road Closed due to Flooding sign which has been damaged.
We have received permission from ABC to co-opt a councillor to replace Mrs Colby. Mr Krause will post the notice on the notice board.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.45 pm.
