At this point in the meeting Mrs Whittington welcomed Mrs Logan, Cultural and Youth Projects Leader and Mr Bailey, Deputy Head of Cultural Services, who presented a Discussion Paper on possible, future projects to be undertaken in Hothfield. The eventual aim is for all the projects undertaken to have the full support of our villagers and to be community led.

That the Parish Council should support the proposals put forward by Ashford Borough Council so far.

4. CRIME AND DISORDER
We have been experiencing problems with motorcyclists riding unlicensed, unroadworthy

quad bikes around the village recently. The riders do not wear any form of safety clothing

or helmets.

Mr Holloway and Mr Hughes expressed concern that they had both telephoned the police during the course of the last week, over separate issues and had not received any response at all. One of the calls made was a 999 call.
After discussion it was agreed that the Clerk should write to the Chief Constable regarding the lack of response to telephone calls and asking for advice as to how we should deal with the motorcyclists.

       Traffic Calming

It was agreed to include this item at this point although it had not been included on the agenda.

Correspondence regarding this issue was read out.

Mrs Whittington felt that we should mount a sustained campaign to try and get traffic calming in the village, as villagers are concerned that no progress has been made at all so far.

This suggestion was unanimously agreed with and the following possibilities were suggested

1. A vehicle count in Hothfield and Egerton at the same time on one evening, to show the amount of traffic passing through the village compared to Egerton.

2. All incidents regarding traffic must be recorded, i.e. lorries undertaking U-turns outside the school.

3. Photographs of incidents should be taken whenever possible.

4.   Mr Holloway offered to let everyone interested have the email addresses of
KCC Members involved with traffic issues so that they can email them and leave them
in no doubt of the feeling in the village regarding this issue.

5.   Mrs Whittington said she would arrange for the Leader of the KCC, Paul Carter to attend a future Parish Council meeting.
